Writing is the process of using symbols (letters of the alphabet, punctuation and spaces) to communicate thoughts and ideas in a readable form.
الكتابة هي عملية استخدام الرموز ( الحروف الأبجدية وعلامات الترقيم والمسافات ) لتوصيل الأفكار بشكل مقروء.

مراحل عملية الكتابة
1) Pre-writing / Planning / Brainstorming stage:- مرحلة ما قبل الكتابة
1- Brainstorm ideas and organize your topic. العصف الذهني للأفكار وترتيب / تنظيم الموضوع 2- Think about what to say. في هذه المرحلة نفكر عن ماذا سنكتب
3- Talk about your ideas with a friend to find a main idea. التحدث مع صديق عن الأفكار لإيجاد الفكرة الرئيسية للموضوع
4- Use the list to organize your ideas. استخدم قائمة لتنظيم وترتيب أفكارك
2) Drafting / Free writing stage:- مرحلة المسودة
1- Create a rough copy of your writing. في هذه المرحلة يتم عمل مسودة وعدة نسخ من الشيء المراد كتابته، وهي مرحلة كتابة حرة لا يوجد بها اهتمام للأخطاء النحوية
2- Write your ideas in order. اكتب أفكارك بشكل منظم/مرتب
3- Read your work out loud and note places where you stumble. اقرأ ما كتبت بصوت عالي وسجل النقاط التي تلاحظ وجود أخطاء بها
4- Ask friends for their feedback. اسأل أصدقائك عن رأيهم
3) Revising stage:- مرحلة المراجعة
1- Improve your writing. حسن/طور كتابتك
2- Try out different beginning and endings. جرب بدايات ونهايات مختلفة لنصك
3- Use quotes or add dialogue. استخدم الاقتباسات أو قم بإضافة محادثات
4- Include descriptive words. أدرج كلمات وصفية
5- Add details to develop important parts. قم بإضافة تفاصيل إضافية لتطور أجزاء مهمة في النص
4) Editing / Proofreading stage:- مرحلة التعديل
1- Proofread your writing. قم بالتأكد من كتابتك
2- Make sure that you have complete sentences and correct spellings. قم بالتأكد من أن النص صحيح إملائيا و نحويًا
3- Reread to see if each sentence makes sense. أعد قراءة النص لترى إذا كانت كل جملة هي جملة مفيدة "منطقية ولها معنى"
4- Ask a friend to proofread your work . اسأل صديقك ليصحح لك ويتأكد من نصك
5) Publishing stage:- مرحلة النشر
1- Create a clean final copy. اعمل نسخة أخيرة لكتابتك
2- Type your writing or copy it into a new paper. اكتب نصك أو انسخه إلى ورقة جديدة
3- Think of an interesting title. فكر بعنوان مثير
4- Share your writing. انشر كتابتك/نصك

أنواع الكتابة
1- Controlled Writing الكتابة المقيدة
such as handwriting, copying, dictation and spelling . مثل الإملاء أو النسخ حيث يكون المعلم هو المتحكم فيها
2- Guided writing الكتابة الموجهة
Provide guidance in vocabulary and structures so pupils will not make many mistakes. توجه التلميذ للمفردات وتراكيب الجملة والطالب هنا يكتب بدون أخطاء
3- Free writing الكتابة الحرة
Writing without regard to spelling, grammar, or topic. الكتابة الحرة لا تتقيد بقواعد أو تهجئة ولا بموضوع
4- Creative writing الكتابة الإبداعية
is any writing that needs creative and imagination. كتابة تحتاج إلى إبداع وخيال

أساليب الكتابة
1- Expository Writing:- in which author’s purpose is to inform or explain the subject to the reader. الكتابة التفسيرية أو التوضيحية هي التي يكون غرض المؤلف من خلالها إخبار أو شرح الموضوع للقارئ
2- Persuasive Writing:- that states the opinion of the writer and attempts to influence the reader. الكتابة الاقناعية هي التي تنص على رأي الكاتب ومحاولات التأثير على القارئ
3- Narrative Writing:- in which the author tells a story. The story could be fact or fiction.
الكتابة القصصية هي التي يحكي فيها المؤلف قصة وقد تكون حقيقة أو خيال
4- Descriptive Writing:- A type of expository writing that uses the five senses to paint a picture for the reader. This writing incorporates imagery and specific details.
الكتابة الوصفية هي نوع من الكتابة التفسيرية التي تستخدم الحواس الخمس لرسم صورة للقارئ. تضم هذه الكتابة صور وتفاصيل محددة
